Zucchini & Eggplant Stirfry

Here’s another stir fried dish. We do love to stirfry don’t we? These were the last harvest from our garden this year. We just had one of each vegetable, so I decided to combine them in one dish. Kind of like an ‘a little bit of this and a little bit of that’ stirfry. Here’s how we cooked up this dish… … Read entire article »

Charlotte Russe

With the holidays coming up, this dessert will be a good addition to any holiday menu. It’s quite easy to make and I made it just as the recipe was from the Christmas With Southern Living 1997 Cookbook. The girls and I enjoyed this last holiday season and I kept forgetting to post it so I guess this would be a perfect time to do it. Especially since I’m already contemplating what to make this time around. Chicken Asparagus Stirfry

Cooked up By Jade I’ve been asking Jade to finish blogging about this dish but she has been really busy with school and with Facebook her after school activities that she just hasn’t had the time and I was too eager to show off her cooking. I had been using fry sauce and different variations of it over the years and never knew it had a name! I actually thought at first that I had invented it Fry sauce, if you didn’t know, is a combination of mayonnaise and ketchup that you dip your french fries in! Simple right? You’d think so, wouldn’t you? But there are so many variations to take on this especially if you love sauce on your french fries beyond ketchup.  So Drew over at The BenSpark decided to hold a competition to find the Ultimate Fry Sauce recipe. The contest is closed now, and I … Read entire article »

Beef Rendang

My gosh, I think I can blog again! Some people blogged all through election night but I couldn’t do anything all night but stare at the TV; first, holding my breath and waiting for the results then when it came, just sitting, stunned that we have a new president and the first black president at that! What a night! Anyway, I was supposed to post this last night. Well, I was supposed to post it over the weekend, but it was Halloween and Homecoming weekend, and well, it just didn’t have a chance of getting done then. So here it is… (sorry, my final photo turned out a little dark). Our host for Recipes to Rival for October were Rayrena of Happy Cows and Belita of Culinary Adventure and they chose … Read entire article »
