My wandering blogger friend Sha posted this recipe on facebook and I just had to try it. I had all the ingredients on hand, and the process was easy enough for a weekday meal, so why not? This was a very tasty dish and my family love it! Their verdict? “It’s like chicken curry without the curry!” LOL! Leave it to them to sum up a seemingly exotic dish with one pronouncement!
Grocery coupons are becoming more available for ethnic ingredients.
I am a terrible housekeeper but I do love to cook so it all evens out in the end. I like to try new recipes that I think my family will like. However, I am not one to follow all recipes to the letter. I tend to tweak and change the recipes based on what I have on hand and how I am feeling at the time. Feel free to share your versions, I just might try it out next time I make the dish again.
We have lots of coconut farm here in our country. Since my mom left yesterday, I’m all by myself. I made this dish last night and it turns out so gorgeous!
Wow… is this what you call the “ginataang manok” or something like that? A filipina friend of mine cooks something like this and I swear it is really delicious!
Can you buy Thai chiles at the regular grocery store? This recipe sounds really yummy and I would like to try it out for sure. I might try it without the chiles because that is the only ingredient I do not have on hand. Thank you for sharing.
Cindi, you can use any type of hot pepper available at your grocery store. You can even use jalapeno or serrano chiles as they are now available in most grocery stores.
This recipe looks delicious, not too complicated, and unique! I think I’ll try it sometime this week Keep up the good recommendations! Greetings from us at chewonthatblog.com
